Designed for permanent and workzone sites where impacts are expected
more than 3 times per year or where traffic congestion and maintenance
management is a concern for work crews.
The REACT 350 System features “smart plastic” cylinders
made of high molecular weight, high-density polyethylene (HMW/HDPE)
plastic. When impacted within the design capacity specified in NCHRP
350, they typically regain up to 90% of their original shape and
capacity without maintenance or repair of major components. The
REACT 350 System includes a range of units for design speeds from
72 km/h (45 mph) to 100 km/h (62 mph) and hazards up to 910 mm (36")
wide. REACT 350 Wide Systems are also available to protect hazards
wider than 910 mm (36”).
How it works
The
REACT 350 Impact attenuator features “smart plastic”
cylinders made of HMW/HDPE plastic. When impacted within the design
capacity of the system, the vehicle’s energy is absorped by
the cylinders and will then regain up to 90% of its original shape
and capacity without maintenance or repair of major components.
REACT
350® IMPACT ATTENUATOR
NCHRP 350
- Non-gating, redirective impact attenuator
- Performs effectively with design speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph)
- Meets TL-1 (50 km/h / 30 mph), TL-2 (70 km/h / 43 mph) and TL-3
(100 km/h / 62 mph)
Head-On Impacts
During head-on impacts, the REACT 350® impact attenuator crushes
the reusable cylinders to absorb the energy of impact.
Redirective Capability
When impacted from the side, the REACT 350® impact attenuator
redirects the errant vehicle back toward its original travel path
without allowing gating.
Superior Design
Sectional design consists of energy-absorbing, reusable, "smart
plastic" (HMW/HDPE) cylinders attached to a self-contained
backup, or to a new or existing concrete-mounted backup system.
A Self-Restoring Impact Attenuator
REACT
350® will self restore after most design impacts, typically
regaining up to 99% of their original shape and capacity without
maintenance or repair of major components.
